Tim Combs

Graduate Student
Professional Mental Health Counseling - Specialization in Addictions
(he/they)

My name is Tim Combs (he/they), and I am a mixed-race, queer-identifying, 2nd-year graduate student in the Professional Mental Health Counseling - Specialization in Addictions program at Lewis & Clark. I’ve entered the counseling profession after living in Portland for over 25 years teaching and organizing in communities with individuals impacted by the social, cultural, and economic systems that surround us. I’m drawn to working in problem gambling and excessive internet gaming after seeing how it has impacted my friends, students, and their families. I approach therapy with a sense of empathy, curiosity, and the belief that our stories provide clues from our past that can lead us toward healing and growth moving forward. I will work collaboratively with you to help you find resources, tools, and insights that support your values and future goals.
