Cort M. Dorn-Medeiros

Associate Professor, Department Chair

Dr. Dorn-Medeiros is an Associate Professor in the Professional Mental Health Counseling - Specialization in Addictions (PMHCA) program and instructs courses across the PMHCA and Professional Mental Health Counseling (PMHC) programs. Recent courses include Introduction to Professional Mental Health and Addiction Counseling, Diversity & Social Justice, Career Development, Practicum and Internship group supervision, and Motivational interviewing. Dr. Dorn-Medeiros also serves as the current Chair of the Counseling, Therapy, and School Psychology department.

Dr. Dorn-Medeiros is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor III (CADC III) in the state of Oregon. Prior to Lewis & Clark College, Dr. Dorn-Medeiros worked as a professional counselor in a variety of community-based settings including Multnomah County Drug Court, a post-prison community reentry program through Volunteers of America, and the Multnomah County Rockwood Health Clinic. 

Dr. Dorn-Medeiros has been focused on the emerging issue of excessive video gaming, social media, and technology use. Dr. Dorn-Medeiros has been interviewed by a variety of media outlets, including The Oregonian and National Public Radio, on the prevalence, assessment, and treatment of gaming disorder.
