I am currently owner and art therapist at Kapwa Art Therapy and Counseling, located in Chicago, IL. There, I specialize in the mental health of Filipinos and those of AAPI descent and mixed race heritage. I also currently lead emotional support groups for adults living with cancer at Gilda’s Club Chicago. Throughout my 16 years there, I have also worked with children and families. Previously, I worked with teenagers and adults at Head/Heart Therapy; older adults living with dementia at House of Welcome Adult Day Services at the North Shore Senior Center in Northfield, IL; with couples and families at the Barrington Center for Marriage and Family Therapy; with adults in psychiatric units at Swedish Covenant Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Sheridan Shores Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, IL; with parents and children at Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC) in Chicago, IL; and with advocacy efforts for Art Therapy Connection in Chicago, IL. Besides working as an art therapist, I’ve done volunteer management, supervision for creative arts therapists, presentations, trainings and curation and installation of art therapy exhibits locally.
