In this workshop we’ll look briefly at the research that challenges the five-paragraph formula and go on to explore and discuss strategies that support reading and thinking and lead to students writing with authentic voice and purpose.

About the Instructor
Kimberly Campbell, B.A. ‘79, M.A.T. ‘94, J.D., Ed.D. taught middle school and high school language arts and served as the founding principal of a small, urban high school. She currently teaches at the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling where she works primarily with preservice M.A.T. students who are learning to be secondary language arts teachers. She is the author of Less Is More: Teaching Literature with Short Texts—Grades 6-12. Kimberly also co-authored, Beyond the Five-Paragraph Essay with Kristi Latimer.
