82% of Lewis & Clark’s Class of 2023 graduates passed the Oregon State Bar Exam this July on their first time taking the bar, continuing the school’s trend of holding the highest bar pass rate in the state. 2023 graduates’ performance was 7% higher than the statewide average of 75%.
Since Lewis & Clark is the largest law school in the state and usually mirrors the statewide average, this pass rate is particularly impressive.
Said Associate Dean of Student Affairs Libby Davis, “Some of this success can be attributed to Professor Sandy Patrick’s Advanced Analysis in Pre-Bar Skills course, offered since 2016.” The course helps students improve analytical skills like memorization, analytical reasoning, and writing and helps students get a headstart on bar preparation and maximize their retention of their summer bar review course.
“I am so proud of all of our graduates for their hard work in studying for this exam,” said Dean Davis. “Their diligence will take them far in their careers.”
