Oregon Courage Community - Graduate School of Education and Counseling - Lewis & Clark
The Courage to Lead® Program for Oregon Superintendents is a personal and professional renewal opportunity that meets in a retreat setting. It offers superintendents the time and space to reflect on the complex, challenging, and changing dimensions of their leadership experiences.
The Courage to Lead Program is designed to help move beyond the “what” and “how” questions of leadership, to the “who” questions. It is rooted in the belief that effective leadership flows from the identity and integrity of the person, and offers participants the opportunity to connect with colleagues who understand the importance and complexity of their lives as educational leaders.
“In Courage to Lead…we learned more about ourselves and why we do the hard work that we do with passion and excellence. Courage to Lead taught us how to connect who we are with the work that we do.
It was about discovering our identity, showcasing our integrity and participating in deep self reflection. These powerful components of solid leadership helped us design a shared vision for the future of our school district.”
–Karen Gray, Superintendent, Parkrose School District
