Your Path to a Graduate Degree Starts Here

Applying to the graduate school at Lewis & Clark runs smoothly when working with our expert admissions team. Lewis & Clark faculty and the Graduate Admissions Committee practice a holistic approach to admissions. Many factors are carefully considered when evaluating candidates including prior academic record, interpersonal skills, and cross-cultural readiness. An individual’s personal integrity and professional fitness are also relevant to the admissions process.

Admission Requirements for All Programs

Application Fee

A $50 nonrefundable application fee is required. The fee is payable with a credit card or electronic check. Application fee waivers are available for Lewis & Clark alumni, current students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, and participants in service programs.

A current professional resume listing positions, prior education, awards, classroom experience, and volunteer activities.

Transcripts

One official transcript must be submitted from each post-secondary institution attended regardless of the length of study or the number of courses taken. This includes all college-level credit earned while in high school or while participating in study abroad programs.

Counseling and Therapy Admissions Process and Requirements

Lewis & Clark Graduate School counseling and therapy students learn to foster effective helping relationships and to create a wide range of interventions suitable for individuals, families, groups, and communities. Through the Lewis & Clark Community Counseling Center, they also offer direct service to the community during their internship experience.

School Psychology

At Lewis & Clark, students benefit from rigorous training that takes place in the heart of the thriving city of Portland, Oregon. And, because we offer the only EdS degree program in Oregon with national approval from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), graduates are able to find work both inside and outside of the state.

Higher Education Student Affairs

Available in a full-time/two-year or part-time/three-year format, our Master’s in Higher Education Student Affairs Program focuses on the ways that learning and development occur in and outside the classroom on a college campus. Graduates of our program will be prepared to serve as coordinators, assistant directors, and directors in a wide range of areas related to student affairs administration.

For students who already hold a master’s degree, we also offer a doctoral degree in Higher Education Student Affairs.

Doctor of Education in Leadership Program

The doctoral program in education in leadership encompasses the P-20 (preschool through baccalaureate) spectrum, affording students the unique opportunity to learn how educational pathways from pre-K/K to the significant transition into higher education play an evolving and ongoing role in educational outcomes.
