David Officer was born in Beaverton, Oregon, and is a fourth generation Oregonian. He currently lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon with his seven-year old daughter.
He has strong connections with Lewis and Clark. He graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a double major in Business and Communication. While at Lewis and Clark he was very active in the Associated Students of Lewis and Clark’s Executive Council for three years which included helping build the Student Academic Affairs Board, and the course evaluation. He was a Resident Assistant for two years and a Debate team member.
He earned his MBA from the University of Washington in Marketing and Human Resources. He worked at the senior level in Human Resources for companies such as T-Mobile, Netflix, Providence Medical Group, Holland America Cruise Line/Carnival, Holiday Retirement, and a few others. His focus was on building strong cultures, leadership, recruiting, and executive coaching.
Professionally he was an active member of the State of Oregon’s Workforce Investment Board. Serving on the executive team and chair of their Communications Committee. He was also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management Association, where he earned his Senior Professional Human Resources certification. He taught a number of Human Resource certification programs in Oregon.
He currently owns Innovative Transports Corporation, a Fedex contractor serving communities in Oregon, and Innovative Hires a staffing and headhunting company.
He has been an active member of the entrepreneur community in Portland for the past several years both as an investor and coach. He was an executive board member of Angel Oregon, and investor with Portland Angel Network. He is currently a member of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network.
