Eric Wasserman BA ’97 has left a rewarding career in education after more than two decades. In addition to serving as a tenured university professor, he advanced a Popular Literature and Film program. He also taught creative writing and literature. Wasserman, who has authored two books with another on the way, recently formed his own literary and media company, MEW/EMW Productions. Wasserman’s next book will be released in 2024. He’s planning a Portland-based reading and hopes to see old L&C friends for good talk and old laughs.

Eric Wasserman BA ’97’s short story, “Reunion,” was published in January 2017 by Aldus Boek Compagnie in The Netherlands as a limited-edition bilingual Dutch/English chapbook. A Dutch translation of his complete collection of short fiction, The Temporary Life (University of Akron Press, 2010), will be published in late 2017, and a Dutch translation of his novel, Celluloid Strangers (Second Wind Publishing, 2011), is forthcoming in 2018. Wasserman is an associate professor of English at the University of Akron, where he teaches creative writing, literature, and film studies. He lives in Akron, with his wife, Thea.
