Hello! My name is Thanh (she/her). I am currently a 3rd year graduate student in the Professional Mental Health Counseling - Specialization in Addictions program at Lewis & Clark. I grew up as a child of immigrants from Vietnam and was raised in Indiana before moving around as an adult (Chicago, San Diego, and Ho Chi Minh City will always have a piece of my heart) and finally settling here in the PNW. I’ve been with L&C Problem Gambling Services since 2020 and have worked with individuals and family members who are negatively impacted by gambling addiction, as well as other co-occurring mental health struggles. I was drawn to this profession because of my experience as an Asian-American and the lack of resources and communication around mental health in the population. I was inspired to work specifically with addictions and gambling recovery because of the prevalence of these within the Vietnamese community. It is my hope to support individuals and families impacted by gambling, especially because of the impact I’ve seen it have within my community.
