Born and raised in Portland Oregon, Jill uses she/her pronouns. She has had a lifelong love of learning and has taught English in both Thailand and Japan before landing in Lewis & Clark’s teacher education program. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from Goldsmiths University of London, and spends her spare time writing prose and poetry. She is also currently seeking her ESOL endorsement and has a passion for languages having grown up bilingual. She was a founding member of Portland’s Oregon Rose chapter of the National Charity League, and takes social justice very seriously. She currently serves as a representative for the Graduate Student Union, and has been dedicated to bridging the gaps between the graduate programs and fostering a strong community among the students in a time when community is more important than ever.
Upon graduating, Jill looks forward to taking all her experiences from Lewis & Clark and furthering the field of education and into her own future classroom. With Lewis & Clark’s focus on social justice and equity she plans to take this learning into her career as an English Language Arts educator. When not studying she can be found on her farm in St. Helen’s where in her spare time she enjoys relaxing with either some knitting or embroidery.
