School Psychology
Hello! My name is JohnMark Usifo Uwagbae. I am a first-year graduate student in the School Psychology Program here at Lewis & Clark College. One of the main reasons I was interested in this program specifically is because of the ties I have already had with the school. My sister is a graduate of the Undergraduate school, a Political Science Major, and she is now teaching 2nd grade in Washington D.C. In my own experience, the school has shown me time and time again that diverse education is not only spoken about but practiced on campus. My professors come from all walks of life, the materials we read are from expansive and varied authors, and the projects I have done have truly been aimed at helping me expand as well as solidify what I have been taught.
Aside from school, I have may varied interests as well. I have studied and spoken Japanese for the past 15 years as well as having lived there for a few years before starting at Lewis & Clark. I’m also a fan of Dungeons and Dragons, Anime, and just anything fantastical! I believe that life is all about exploring things and telling those stories, so if you have questions, you can be confident that I have answers. Looking forward to talking to, getting to know, and hopefully seeing you at Lewis & Clark one day soon!
