We are looking for a tutor to facilitate distance learning in PPS for our two girls, who will be going into first and fifth grade at Llewellyn Elementary. The focus of this position will be on the first grader, with supplementary support for the fifth grader (assignment review and addressing problem areas). Someone with experience in teaching children how to read would be wonderful. Our youngest seems to be at a turning point in her reading, and we’d love it if the selected candidate would be able to help her move to the next stage of proficiency. Our oldest is self-directed and motivated, but may need assistance with math. We’d love to meet with candidates who think they can bring excitement about learning to this new scholastic landscape. While our kids will be participating in distance learning, the ideal candidate would create opportunities to take learning off-screen. Tutoring will take place in our home, which is located in Westmoreland. Both parents are working from home. We are on the conservative end when it comes to COVID precautions and are looking for someone of like mind. Our girls will be participating in afternoon enrichment activities with a pod of five families who are all very committed to limiting exposure.
