Does the program offer any special focus options, like special education, ESOL, etc.?
No. The Principal License program is fairly straight forward and focuses primarily on issues of instructional leadership; the appropriate and powerful uses of data; ethics, policy, and law; engaging and reaching out to the community; planning and budgeting for educational equity; and field-based sheltered administrative practice. Students pursuing Principal License as part of a master’s degree do have electives to choose from that target related educational areas such as literacy, ESOL, and special education.
