Get to know Lewis & Clark Law School’s incoming class of 2024—an impressive, diverse group of future legal professionals who are already making their mark.
Lewis & Clark Law School welcomed a diverse and dynamic group of first-year law students for the 2024 academic year. The new class, consisting of 166 enrolled students, completed their intensive two-week Legal Methods course ahead of the start of regular classes on August 26. This innovative class, designed to introduce students to foundational legal concepts and reasoning,, sets the stage for the rest of their legal education journey.
This year’s incoming class is slightly larger than last year’s, with 166 students enrolled compared to 160 in 2023. The median LSAT scores for the class are in line with previous years, with the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles at 157, 160, and 163, respectively. The median undergraduate GPA (UGPA) also remains strong, with the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles at 3.28, 3.58, and 3.79, respectively, showcasing the consistent academic caliber of the incoming students.
This year’s class is notably more diverse, with 29% of the students identifying as students of color, a significant rise from last year’s 20%. The gender composition has also evolved, with 101 female students, 62 male students, and 4 non-binary students. These shifts highlight the law school’s commitment to inclusivity and its efforts to cultivate a student body that reflects a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
“We are excited to welcome such a diverse and talented student body again this year,” said Interim Dean John Parry. “We continue to attract and enroll strong classes, not only maintaining our higher LSAT and GPA figures compared to the past decade, but also attracting students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences that will enrich our campus.”
As the academic year unfolds, Lewis & Clark Law School will continue to provide a welcoming and challenging environment for its students, supporting their growth as future legal professionals. The law school community is excited to see the contributions these new students will make, both in the classroom and in the broader legal field.
