The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus follows the story of a scholarly man, Faustus, who grows bored of his wealth of worldly knowledge and instead chooses to pursue the art of magic. In doing so, Faustus summons a demon from Hell, Mephistopheles, to whom he gives his soul in exchange for 24 years of pleasure, the price of which is his damnation. The play follows these two as they fall in love and help each other discover more about their identities, place in the world, and place in God’s love or outside of it. This show is a meditation on cultivating community spaces, the discovery of and fear of one’s queerness, traditional Catholic theological ideas, and the subversion of those notions. This show will be full of movement and magic and will feature an original underscore heavily influenced by folk punk music composed by LC students! Come join us in Hell!

CW: blood, death, homophobia and transphobia, simulated sex, simulated on-stage orgy.
