Become a Teacher by 2024: Lewis & Clark’s Graduate School is Accepting Applications

You could apply today, begin classes in mid-June 2023, graduate in July 2024, and be teaching in your own classroom that September.

Become a teacher by 2024 Becoming a teacher is one of the most impactful ways in which we can make a difference in the lives of children, families, and entire communities. Did you know that just south and across the street from the College of Arts and Sciences sits Lewis & Clark’s Graduate School of Education and Counseling, home to an esteemed, 13-month, teacher education program that is deeply rooted in a mission of social justice and dedicated to preparing future teachers to be agents of change?

We are currently still accepting teacher education applications for the 2023-24 academic year. You could apply today, begin classes in mid-June 2023, graduate in July 2024, and be teaching in your own classroom that September.

As a teacher candidate in either our elementary or secondary teacher education program, you will have the unique opportunity to spend a full school year as a student teacher in a local classroom, working with your mentor teacher to put into practice what you will learn through rigorous coursework taught by experienced and supportive faculty. A small cohort model fosters deep and often life-long connections between fellow candidates, facilitating a cooperative and inspirational academic environment that leads to a strong professional network.
