Japanese Club hosts successful Japan Night!

The Japan Club, with support from Japanese faculty, hosted Japan Night for all students in Fields Dining Hall on November 18th. Activities included a Ka hoot contest about Japanese trivia (with prizes!), a Kendo demonstration, a fashion show, dance performances and a Japanese dinner provided by Bon Appetit. Students wore authentic kimonos and hakama purchased in Japan by faculty member Yoshiko Reynolds.

The Department was honored to host Consul Shigehisa (in photo below)  from the Consular Office of Japan in Portland during this special event.
