LC hosts environmental law seminar for federal judges
Lewis & Clark’s Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law program offers a three day seminar on environmental law for federal judges, in collaboration with the Federal Judicial Center. The seminar covers all of the major environmental statutes a federal judge might encounter on his or her docket, including pollution control and resource allocation statutes.
In fall 2016, the Lewis & Clark environmental faculty gave presentations on NEPA, the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, civil and criminal enforcement, justiciability, climate change, and CERCLA. The seminar was capped off with a field based discussion of the issues on a trip to the Columbia Gorge, including stops at Multnomah Falls and the Bonneville Dam.
Lewis & Clark seeks to raise the level of awareness in the environmental, natural resources, and energy law fields, not only among our own students but among practitioners, agency personnel and the judiciary, so that everyone involved can make informed decisions in areas of critical concern. If your agency or organization could benefit from high-quality environmental law training tailored to your particular needs, contact us at elaw@lclark.edu.
