Law students featured for climate work in Copenhagen

International Environmental Law Project (IELP) law students and faculty were featured in The Oregonian for their efforts “on the frontlines of Copenhagen climate talks.” The students are working on behalf of an international nongovernment organization, Ecosystems Climate Alliance, to help shape policies that will come out of the summit regarding deforestation.
IELP works on a range of global conservation issues from drafting water rights treaties in Nepal, to petitioning to have a park in Panama and Costa Rica listed as a World Heritage site, to working with Moroccan officials to stem the exportation of Barbary macques.
IELP provides a unique education experience for law students as the only college-based law clinic devoted to international environmental law in the country. Follow the students as they blog about their work in Copenhagen.
IELP’s work in Copenhagen is being supported by Lewis & Clark Law School alumnus Paul Shinkawa, who made the contribution through 3P NRGY LLC & BioNRGY LLC, a developer of renewable energy.
