Residential Counselor Job Opening
VOA Oregon’s Men’s Residential Center (MRC) is a 52-bed residential mental health and drug and alcohol treatment center in NE Portland. The MRC seeks three Relief/on-call Residential Counselors. Residential Counselors are responsible for supervising and providing crisis counseling and support services for men in a residential therapeutic community. The MRC serves men in residential drug and alcohol treatment who are recovering from addiction. This is a fun, challenging job in a team-oriented environment and a great opportunity for those interested in fields such as addiction treatment, psychology, sociology, social work and/or social justice. Specifically, position #15-0279 has one opening and is overnight/graveyard; most shifts are 12a-8a. Position #15-0280 has three openings and this position is primarily composed of relief ‘swing’ shifts that start in the early afternoon and end between 10p and 12a. It also may include some relief overnight/graveyard shifts from 1! 2a-8a.
