Job Opportunity: Part-Time Spanish Teacher

Part-Time Spanish position at Columbia High School with possibly: Math, English, Health or Physical Education Beginning in the 2015-16 school year

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State teaching certificate and highly qualified in Spanish
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate, plan, and implement a balanced Spanish language program that includes reading, writing and oral communication
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom
  • Demonstrated ability to implement effective formative and summative assessment practices that promote student engagement and learning growth
  • Demonstrated ability to relate positively and productively with a variety of students, staff and parents
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement teaching practices that develop the social and emotional intelligences of high school students
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in second language acquisition
  • Demonstrated ability to productively collaborate with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly qualified in Math, Language Arts, Health or Physical education
  • Ability to articulate and implement effective practices to assist second-language learners and Special Education students
  • Ability and desire to coach athletics and/or advise clubs
  • Commitment to participate in extra-curricular activities
  • Knowledge of working within an extended period classroom
  • Familiarity with the new Smarter Balanced testing
