Alumnus named principal of local high school

Andy Van Fleet, Initial Administrator License ’09, has been named principal of Tigard High School and begins work in July, 2015.

Andy Van Fleet, Initial Administrator License ’09, has been named principal of Tigard High School and begins work in July, 2015.

“I’m excited to work with a passionate and dedicated teaching staff,” Van Fleet told The Times Tigard, “while continuing to offer support and guidance to an absolutely phenomenal student body.”

Before receiving his administrative license at Lewis & Clark Van Fleet studied at Pacific University and Oregon State University. Van Fleet was the associate principal at Willamette High School in Eugene, where he was responsible for creating programs aimed at helping students do better in writing, reading and math. Since joining the Tigard staff September, 2014 Van Fleet has been serving as associate principal.
