Parvaneh Abbaspour named new Science & Data Services Librarian

We are excited to introduce you to Parvaneh Abbaspour, Watzek’s new Science & Data Services Librarian.
In this position Parvaneh serves as the liaison to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics, and will develop the library’s data services program. During the Fall semester Parvaneh served as Temporary Research & Instruction Librarian at Watzek, and worked tirelessly to support student and faculty research and participated in the development of Data Management Plans for federal grant applications in collaboration with the Sponsored Research Office.
Prior to receiving her Masters in Library and Information Science from McGill University, Parvaneh was employed as a wetlands biologist and environmental data analyst in the San Francisco Bay area. With this experience she brings unique, specialized knowledge and skills to both the science librarianship and data management aspects of the position.
