Faculty in Focus

Meet three of our dynamic professors.

Lewis & Clark professors are exceptional teachers and mentors, as well as respected researchers and innovators in their fields. Small class sizes and close contact between professors and students create opportunities for discussion and collaboration both in and outside the classroom. Get to know three of our faculty members in the videos below, and then schedule a campus visit to sit in on a class.

Rebecca “Becko” Copenhaver

Professor of Philosophy

Becko talks about the annual philosophy colloquium series and how her department specializes in interdisciplinary study.

Elliot Young

Professor of History

Elliott teaches courses on migrations and diasporas in the Americas. He also runs a summer workshop in Mexico and an overseas study program in Cuba.

Cliff Bekar

Associate Professor of Economics

Cliff discusses his relationship with Lewis & Clark students, his love of board games, and how studying economics is not the same thing as studying business.
