Colin Pierce, MAT ’11, comments in Seattle Times on school funding

A Lewis & Clark alum chimes in on the topic of school funding in Washington State.

On Feb. 12, a post by Colin Pierce (MAT ’11) appeared in Education Lab Blog of the Seattle Times newspaper, a yearlong project dedicated to “conversations about education solutions in the Pacific Northwest.” Pierce argues that the Washington state legislature, business leaders, and other prominent figures should commit to sustained funding for public schools. He draws on his experiences at Rainier Beach High School as an 11th-grade teacher, International Baccalaureate Coordinator, and Building Leadership Team chair.
