The Regional Arts and Culture Council awarded Resonance Ensemble a $6,000 Artistic Focus grant for their upcoming production, Back in the U.S.S.R. $6,000 is the maximum project grant allowed; these funds will underwrite the costs of hiring professional musicians, renting instruments, and publicizing the event to wider audiences.

The concert will take place on Saturday, March 2 as part of the Portland Shostakovich Festival, and includes musical reactions from many composers impacted by the Soviet Regime.
