Just as "CPR" skills make physical first aid possible\, training in  \;suicide intervention develops the skills needed for suicide first aid.& #160\;After this workshop\, participants will be able to:Recognize that c aregivers and persons at risk are affected by personal and societal attit udes about suicide\; Discuss suicide with a person at risk in a direct m anner\; \; Identify risk alerts and develop a safeplan related to th em\; Demonstrate the skills required to intervene with a person at risk of suicide\; List the types of resources available to a person at risk o f suicide\; \; Make a commitment to improving community resources an d networking\; and \; Recognize that suicide prevention is broader t han suicide intervention\, and includes life promotion and self-care for persons at risk as well as for caregivers.
