Studio Process Session is a space where anyone can use art to connect with a deep understanding of oneself through the process of creation and engagement with art materials, symbols and imagery in a supportive setting.
Participants will create an intention, engage in art making using a variety of provided supplies, and reflect on their created artwork with a free association witness writing exercise.
Attendees are encouraged not to comment or talk about each other’s artwork. Participants are invited to reflect on their process or share their witness with the group at the end of the session.
Many have found that engaging in this process helps explore oneself, connect with others and better understand the importance of dialoguing with the creative unknown. Additionally, many find an understanding of art therapy or a way to relieve stress.
Studio Process Sessions are free and open to the public. All materials are provided and no previous experience with making art is necessary. Facilitators are Lewis & Clark Faculty and Art Therapy Students & Supervisors
