This workshop will explore trauma treatment using a variety of mindfulness-based approaches in trauma informed, client-centered therapy—with an emphasis on understanding trauma and the nervous system, relationships and beliefs.

Rooted in years of practice and research in trauma treatment, this training incorporates the latest best practices in trauma-informed care, and is influenced by the theoretical frameworks of Polyvagal theory, yoga and mindfulness. Content is inclusion-oriented and designed to cultivate empowerment and individualized treatment planning.

The workshop will unfold as a collaboration in which attendees will be given ample opportunities to contemplate, role play, and dive deeper into the human relational experience of trauma and trauma-informed care. Content will be applicable to various treatment modalities, and attendees will utilize real case examples to contextualize the training.

We will examine trauma’s effects on the body, mind and belief systems, and experience/understand the healing powers of systemic co-regulation and present mindful connection.

Following this training, attendees will understand:

  • How a trauma-informed approach can complement therapeutic work.
