Visual Journals in the Classroom

This course will introduce visual journals as an instrument for generating ideas and documenting creative process.

Participants will have the opportunity to begin their own visual journal, and as a class discuss and practice ways in which the visual journal can be used in the classroom.

Students will receive a materials list prior to the course start date.

Course Details & Registration

Dates: Monday-Friday, June 24- 28, 2019, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Instructor: Michael Dodson (Oregon Art Educator of the Year 2018, and president of Oregon Art Educators Network)

Degree Applicable Credit: ART 598-12, 2 semester hours, $1,894

Graduate Continuing Education Credit: CEED 866-12, 2 semester hours, $700

About the Instructor

Michael Dodson has taught art at French Prairie
Middle School for 22 years. He has led workshops
and sessions on using visual journals in the classroom
at state and national educator conferences. Michael is
president of the Oregon Art Education Association
and was named Oregon Art Educator of the Year.
