Crisis Line Volunteer Opportunity

Date: April 19, 2014 Location: Portland, Oregon

Portland, Oregon

Hello! Lines for Life has open spots for our upcoming volunteer training on April 19th. It’s a great opportunity to gain some real-world experience helping individuals in suicidal crisis as well as those seeking substance abuse treatment.

In addition to clinical supervision for CADC students, we offer 56 hours of professional training, an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Certificate and 225 hours towards ACCBO Certification.

We do require a commitment of at least one 4 hour shift per week for 1 year or the equivalent of 200 hours. Any person who completes the training and volunteer commitment will walk away as a competitive applicant to graduate programs in psychology, licensing programs for addictions treatment and many other realms of helping professions.

We are offering two orientation sessions for potential volunteers. The orientation lasts one hour and provides an overview of our program. Orientation dates are:

  • Tuesday, April 15th at noon
  • Wednesday, April 16th at 6 PM

Please contact me with any questions or to sign up for an orientation. We hope to hear from you!
