Students experience diverse classes with naturally occurring networks of colleagues and fellow educational leaders, instructors who take a genuine and personal interest in them as students, access to online instructional tools and resources, and a college library media program that offers remote access, special assistance from experienced librarians, and a range of outstanding subscription databases.

Students experience engaging and effective instruction geared to the adult learner with a balance of reading and exploring the professional literature and meaningful, action-oriented field-based assignments.

Someone interested in, aspiring to, or already actively involved in leadership such as teacher leaders, department or grade level chairs, teachers on special assignment, etc.

Preliminary Administrator License classes include individual coaching, assistance in writing a powerful resume, mock interviews, and a special session with HR directors from surrounding districts. Additional guidance in the job search process and in obtaining your Oregon and/or out-of-state license is available through the K-12 Career and Licensing Services’ office.

No. The Preliminary Administrator License program is fairly straight forward and focuses primarily on issues of educational leadership.

Most students complete the 18-hour program in about two years.
