2020 Virtual Ceremony
The Graduate School’s commencement ceremony is one of the most important and treasured events of the year and we are very much looking forward to celebrating with you on June 7 via our virtual ceremony.
About the Ceremony
This will be a professionally filmed and produced video experience, available online beginning June 7 at 10 AM. You will see inspiring speeches delivered by our commencement speaker, Zaretta Hammond, as well as our student commencement speaker, Jocelin Morales, MA ’20. President Wiewel and Dean Fletcher will address the graduates, confer degrees, and present the latest class of educators and counselors to the online audience.
Presentation of the Graduates
Most importantly, all graduates will be individually recognized by name and degree. To achieve this, we will be creating a slide to honor each graduate and their tremendous accomplishment.
Personalize Your Slide
The deadline to submit graduate school commencement photos was Friday, May 8, and the submission form is now closed.
A standard slide with no personal image will be automatically created for all graduating students who did not submit a photo.
Ensure Your Name is Pronounced Correctly
In keeping with our tradition, all graduates’ names will be announced during the ceremony by our registrar, Courtney Whetstine. To ensure the correct pronunciation of your name, please email the phonetic spelling to firstname.lastname@example.org. A hotline for recording the correct pronunciation of your name will be available soon as well.
View the Ceremony
A link will be available on the View the 2020 Virtual Ceremony web page beginning June 7 at 10 AM PDT.
