Art Therapy Studio
The Art Therapy Studio at the Community Counseling Center serves as both a hands-on classroom for graduate students in the art therapy program, as well as a space for graduate students, faculty, and the community to come together and create art. Weekly open studio sessions welcome the public into the studio to participate in art making as a therapeutic experience, whether starting a new project from the gentle prompt provided or continuing a piece of work from a previous session.
All studio sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is required. Participants must be at least 18.
Art for Social Change Open Studio Sessions
Art in relationship transforms lives, builds community, examines social constructs, raises critical consciousness and creates a more just society. We are resolved to create spaces for healing, dialogue, and building community to use art to challenge oppression and achieve our collective liberation to work with oppressed communities to decolonize and dismantle systems of oppression on our campus and beyond.
These sessions focus specifically on exploring social, racial, or political current events. We create art and dialogue about the impact of these events on our communities and work together toward social change.

Art Therapy Open Studio Sessions
Open Studio is a community art studio weekly meeting where individuals are invited to create art and find community. Participants may begin a new piece using a gentle prompt offered at the beginning of each session or work on their own new or ongoing pieces. Expect a short introduction, then choose to work in silence or engage in conversation with others who choose to as well, and participate in a short recap on the making process at the end of the session.
Virtual open studio sessions are offered on select dates. Visit the registration page for the full schedule.
