Licensure Disclosures

Programs at the Graduate School of Education and Counseling (GSEC) leading to licensure or certification meet the State of Oregon’s requirements for licensure and certification. Since each state has different professional licensure and certification requirements, we urge you to contact the appropriate licensing agency to seek information and additional guidance if you are interested in obtaining licensure or certification outside of Oregon. Licensing board and contact information is provided below for each state and many licensing programs.

Professional Licensure Directory

The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) has a detailed resource– the Professional Licensure Directory (https://www.nc-sara.org/professional-licensure-directory) which is housed and managed centrally through the NC-SARA website. The organization will update the contact information twice annually. At NC-SARA, their data shows that the vast majority of the programs leading to licensure among participating institutions are in five fields:

  • Counseling
  • Nursing
  • Psychology
  • Social work
  • Teacher Education

If you need help or have further questions, please contact our GSEC Educational Career, Licensing, and Accreditation Services Director, Sharon Chinn, at ecls@lclark.edu.
