Even when Sam Leach was a little boy, growing up in a rural part of Wyoming, he knew this: Teachers teach with their doors shut.
Mr. Leach is still in third grade. He has been for 12 years. But this go-rounds, he’s the man in front of the classroom. And his door is not shut.
The James John School teacher publishes a blog to show parents the daily happenings in their kids’ classroom. There, you’ll get to know the student of the week, see kids’ artwork and learn a whole lot about Beluga whales. The results: Students work harder, parents are more involved and the community has rushed to boost the school.
