Please join us for “More Than Two Options”, a performance by award-winning writer and storyteller, Ivan Coyote.
Ivan Coyote weaves humor and hard-hitting homocore reality into a series of interconnected stories that touch on and tackle topics such as gender identity, class, growing up queer in a small northern town, and kitchen table family memoirs. Coyote can deftly cut through dogma and catastrophe to render a world that is decidedly bent, and yet undeniably filled with hope.
Cost: $20, $15 students.
To register, contact the Center for Community Engagement at 503-768-6040 or use our Registration Form.
Shuttle: The Lewis & Clark Pioneer Express shuttle offers weekend service from Downtown Portland and the Burlingame Fred Meyer on SW Barbur Blvd. For more information about the shuttle including schedule visit www.lclark.edu/offices/transportation_and_parking/shuttle/. Event attendees may ride the shuttle free of charge.
This event will be held in a location that is wheelchair accessible and a gender-neutral bathroom will be available.
Ivan Coyote was born and raised in a large working class Irish Catholic family in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Ivan tours extensively, and over the last fifteen years has become an audience favorite at storytelling, spoken word, poetry, writer’s and music festivals from Anchorage to Amsterdam. The Globe and Mail called Coyote “a natural-born storyteller” and Ottawa Xpress said “Coyote is to CanLit what kd lang is to country music: a beautifully odd fixture.” For more about Ivan’s work visit ivanecoyote.com.
