Engaging Boys: Working Effectively With Boys’ Relational Style
Date: January 24 2013 5:00pm - 8:00pm Location: South Chapel - Graduate Campus
Research has demonstrated that a significant number of boys are struggling with engagement: with their own emotions, within social relationships, and with meaningful progress in their own schooling.
At the same time, many professionals in education and counseling are challenged with the ability to stay in good and helpful relational engagement with boys: with understanding both the social and biological influences on their development and with knowing how to connect with boys in ways that help them stay connected.
Based on the BAM! Boys Advocacy and Mentoring approach, this workshop challenges the adults who work with boys to see boys in new ways and provides the skills to mentor young men to be more interpersonally engaged within educational and counseling settings.
