Exploring Web 2.0: Tools for Classroom Teaching and Professional Development
Date: February 11 2013 - March 1 2013 Location: Online
Using free Web 2.0 tools, collaborate online with an international group of teachers in order to learn how to exploit social multimedia Web resources for classroom teaching and professional development.
This class is designed for all educators who want to move beyond using the Internet solely for information dissemination. Learn to use the Web in educational settings as students are already doing in their wider world, including blogs, wikis, podcasts, audio and videoconferencing, social bookmarking, image enhancement and news aggregation.
Text, audio and video resources will help guide teachers in pedagogical best practices, using Web 2.0 tools to create classroom materials and activities.
Teachers must have a reliable broadband Internet connection (dial-up speed not sufficient) and access email on a regular basis. Teachers should have basic Internet browsing and search skills. Course materials may be viewed at http://legacy.lclark.edu/~krauss/exploring20web/home.html
