Date: November 29 2012 - December 1 2012 Location: Menucha Retreat and Conference Center, 38711 E Historic Columbia Rvr, Corbett, OR
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves… Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
- Rainer Maria Rilke
Lewis & Clark will be sponsoring a Courage and Renewal® retreat for new teachers in their first five years of teaching. We also welcome mentors, both designated and informal, who support beginning teachers.
This retreat will engage participants in conversations that touch on the ideals and commitments that originally drew them to become professional educators and create a space in which people can explore the delights and frustrations they have encountered as new teachers, and as support for new teachers. Through incorporation of silence, reflection, and creative expression, the retreat will provide an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
The retreat will also provide opportunities to consider themes of early winter as reflected in the beautiful setting at Menucha Conference and Retreat Center on the Columbia River Gorge.
Dates: Thursday-Saturday, November 29-December 1, 2012
Time: Check in at 4:00-6:00 p.m., with dinner at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29th and end after lunch on Saturday.
Location: Menucha Retreat and Conference Center, Creevey Commons, located in the Columbia River Gorge in Corbett, Oregon, twenty-two miles east of Portland
Cost: $680, includes room and board (based on double occupancy). Participants will receive 1 semester hour of degree-applicable graduate credit.
Scholarships: We have several diversity scholarships available— including scholarships for men. Scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis.
