Services and Benefits

Lifetime membership to the Lewis & Clark Graduate School Alumni Association is automatic upon graduation. There are no dues to pay or forms to fill out, but there are many benefits (see below). If you have questions or comments please contact Alumni Relations at gradalum@lclark.edu, 503-768-6049.


Alumni Association ID Card: Alumni are issued an Alumni Association ID card upon graduation. This card allows access to athletic facilities, the library, and certain events. It also gives a 10% discount at the College Bookstore. Contact the Alumni Office at 503-768-6049 or gradalum@lclark.edu to get your alumni card.

Athletic Facilities

Alumni can use the college’s athletic facilities including Pamplin Sports Center, Zehntbauer Swimming Pavilion, track, and tennis courts, during recreational hours by presenting their alumni card.

Alumni dependents may also use sports facilities when accompanied by an alum — the alum should email athleticsevents@lclark.edu with the dependent’s name, date of birth, and relationship to the alum to purchase a card for each dependent ($35 per year per dependent).

Campus Online Directory: For help locating a current student, staff or faculty member, type the name into the website search box above.

Career Services: Graduate career and licensing services offer a wide variety of services to alumni of the graduate school, including help with resume writing and advice on applying for professional licenses in Oregon.

L&C Magazine: The L&C magazine contains information about current students, faculty and alumni of the graduate school, the law school, and the undergraduate college. Alumni receive L&C, published twice a year, at no charge. You can also view L&C online.

Don’t forget to email gradalum@lclark.edu to let us know what is happening in your life so we can include you in the Class Notes section!

Contacting Classmates: Alumni Relations provides assistance in locating classmates. Alumni data is kept confidential, but we will forward letters or contact alumni on your behalf. Email gradalum@lclark.edu if you need assistance in this regard.

Be sure to let us know whenever you change your address, phone number, and/or email address so that we can keep in touch with you, and help other alumni connect with you.

Continuing Education Tuition Discount: Alumni of the Graduate School receive a 20% discount on non-credit, on-campus continuing education classes. (This cannot be combined with a team discount.) To receive this benefit, be sure to complete the alumni information section on your continuing education registration form or select the alumni option when completing your registration online.

Democracy & Education: Democracy & Education is an online journal about the classroom; it focuses on sustaining and developing democratic teaching practices that value the voices of students and teachers. Since 2005, the journal has been published by the Graduate School. Subscriptions are free: Sign up at http://democracyeducationjournal.org/home/announcements.html.

Diploma Replacement: Need to replace your diploma? Find out how via the Registrar’s Office.

Events: Free or reduced admission is available for many athletic and cultural events, symposia, and lectures on campus. See the events calendar for schedules or more information. 

Hotels: Lewis & Clark alumni receive a special rate at certain lodgings in the Portland metro area.

Library: Alumni retain borrowing privileges at the Aubrey Watzek Library (excluding inter-library loan system, Summit, remote access to research databases and the Boley Law Library). Alumni are always welcome to come back to Watzek and make use of our computers and print resources. Read more about alumni use of the library here.

Regional Graduate School Alumni Chapters: Are you interested in establishing a regional alumni chapter? Please email us at gradalum@lclark.edu.

Transcripts: Official transcripts can be requested by fax, in person, or via U.S. mail. By federal law, transcripts cannot be ordered electronically because a signature is needed. More information can be found through the Graduate Registrar’s Office.
