    4:30pm - 7:30pm As teachers, counselors, and change agents in schools and communities we hear stories of personal and social devastation in our daily practice; we see pervasive images of ecological, economic, and social devastation everywhere we look. In this workshop, we will dialogue together in small and large groups to share methods and practices for creating a life of balance and more effective strategies for social change

    10:00am Stephen Krashen, a linguist, educational researcher, and activist, will offer the 2011 commencement address. Krashen is Professor Emeritus of Learning and Instruction at the University of Southern California, specializing in theories of language acquisition and development. Much of his research has involved the study on non-English and bilingual language acquisition. During the past 20 years, he has published hundreds of books and articles and has been invited to deliver over 500 lectures at universities throughout the United States and the rest of the world.
