It depends on whether or not you submit an online application or a paper application.

The online application process now includes letter of recommendation forms. If you use the online application, you automatically will be using the online letter of recommendation process.The online letter of recommendation process is not optional.

If you choose to submit a paper application, letters can be sent either from the letter writer or from the applicant. If the writers choose to be responsible for submitting their letters, please provide them with a stamped, addressed envelope. Also, letters can be faxed, or scanned and emailed directly to the graduate admissions office.
