Review the application requirements

While the application requirements for the graduate school are similar, each program has specific essay prompts. Some require supplemental information, previous teaching experience, or letters of recommendation. It is important that you review the application requirements for your program before you begin the application.

Pay attention to deadlines

Most programs have an application deadline. It is in your best interest to have all materials submitted by your program’s application deadline. Applications submitted by the deadline have a better chance of being invited to admissions interviews and considered for admissions and scholarships.

Start the online application

Lewis & Clark uses an online application. Before you start, you will be asked to create an account. After completing your account profile, you will receive an email with directions on how to create a password for your account. Once your account is set, you will have access to the application home page.

NOTE: If you began an online application before November 1, 2017 do not continue with the application as it will be inactivated. We are no longer using CollegeNet for the application process. Use the link in the paragraph above!

Checking your application status

To check your status, log back in to the application system using your email and password. You will see the Application Status Page which contains important updates about the status of your application materials, recommendations, any supplemental materials, and transcripts. Each item will be shown as marked as received or not received. Remember, during peak admissions processing times it may take a couple of days for materials to be processed and application checklists updated. You will receive emails periodically as your application is reviewed and a decision is issued.

Helpful tips

Transcripts: In the Academic History section, list all college/universities you have attended. You will need to request official copies of your transcripts. The transcripts can be sent as paper or copies or digitally from the institution. Use the contact information listed on the bottom of the navigation bar to the right. You will not be able to upload copies of your transcripts.

Be sure to check your information carefully. You may complete the application over multiple sittings. However, you will not be able to submit the application unless all required fields are completed.

The application fee is not required for submission. You may pay online with a credit card or e-check at a later date. If you are eligible for a fee waiver, you will need to allow time for the fee waiver request to go through the approval process.

Test scores. The School Psychology program is the only program that requires the GRE. International students will need to provide proof of English proficiency which may be demonstrated through passing TOEFL or IELTS test scores.

NOTE: Only completed applications will move forward for review.
