Nutritional Principles and Treatment for Obesity and Eating Disorders

This course explores the role of nutritional therapy in the multidimensional model of treatment for obesity and eating disorders. Topics will include basic concepts of nutrition science, nutritional needs, evaluation of body size, investigation of food facts and fallacies, special dietary needs, and evaluation of current treatments. Strategies will be discussed for conveying and using information in therapy.

Prerequisites: Introduction to Eating Disorders or Treatment Modalities for Eating Disorders

Dates: Saturday and Sunday, March 31-April 1 and April 21-22, 2012

Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Lewis & Clark Graduate Campus, Conference Center room 117
