Alum receives OSPA’s HR 2017 Leadership Award

Jerry Copeland, Director of InterMountain Education Service District (IMESD) and Graduate School alumnus, is the recipient of the Oregon School Personnel Association Human Resources 2017 Leadership Award.

Jerry Copeland, Director of InterMountain Education Service District (IMESD) and Graduate School alumnus, is the recipient of the Oregon School Personnel Association Human Resources 2017 Leadership Award.

As described on their website, the Oregon School Personnel Association Human Resources Leadership Award is given to an active member of OSPA who has distinguished him/herself in personnel administration; is involved and a contributing participant in personnel functions and/or programs; whose contributions have had a significant impact on public education; is a skilled manager of change and is creative in his/her approach to personnel administration; approaches personnel administrative work with a sense of humor and sense of respect for his/her fellow persons.

Since 1986, Jerry has served in a wide range of education leadership positions as a teacher and administrator in addition to extensive community and statewide board service.

“He is always looking for ways to improve himself so he can improve others.”

“Jerry is going to leave a legacy behind. He represents everyone here!! I wish he would never retire!! When he leaves he will leave us in such a better place.
