Dean Gonzalez Awarded The Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Dean

On Friday, November 11, Dean of Students Anna Gonzalez was recognized at the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Western Regional Conference Awards Luncheon.

On Friday, November 11, Dean of Students Anna Gonzalez was recognized at the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Western Regional Conference Awards Luncheon to receive the Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Dean. This award is conferred upon a professional who has served as a senior student affairs officer for more than 15 years and has made exemplary contributions to the student affairs profession.

A 20-year veteran in higher education administration, Gonzalez oversees 15 departments at Lewis & Clark that range from Housing to Athletics.  

Gonzalez received her BA at Loyola Marymount University and her PhD from Claremont Graduate University. She has led a variety of student-life efforts including residential life functions at Semester at Sea, worked at student activities, crisis management, and admissions at UC Irvine, and oversaw management of cultural centers at the University of Illinois.

Gonzalez recently received the Pillars of the Profession in 2015 from NASPA. This award recognizes individuals of sustained professional distinction in the higher education field for extraordinary service and significant lifetime contributions.
