Program improvements set to reduce parking demand

Lewis & Clark will be making changes to its transportation programs beginning fall semester 2016.

After several years of review by Lewis & Clark’s Transportation and Parking Advisory Committee (TPAC) and evaluation by an independent parking consultant, Lewis & Clark will be making changes to its transportation programs beginning fall semester. These changes to Lewis & Clark’s parking and transportation programming are intended to reduce the difficulties currently experienced in our constrained parking system.

Programmatic and operational changes for the 2016-17 academic year:
  • Increase in parking fees (for the first time in 11 years)

  • Addition of a reduced cost park-and-ride lot

  • Reduction in the cost of the TriMet bus pass

  • Adjustment of shuttle schedules to connect to public transportation and park-and-ride lots

  • Incentives for biking and walking

  • Improved communication programs and materials
