Lewis & Clark Community Gathering Space following Ferguson Grand Jury Announcement

Students, alumni, staff, and faculty are invited to gather at 4 p.m. today in Stamm (Templeton Campus Center) following the Ferguson grand jury announcement.

On August 9, 2014, Michael Brown, an unarmed African American teenager, was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri, by a white officer named Darren Wilson. Following Michael Brown’s death, protestors took to the streets in Ferguson and across the country to denounce the killing.

The grand jury released its decision on November 24, 2014, and did not indict officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting death of Michael Brown.

The Department of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement at Lewis & Clark wants to provide a facilitated space for students, alumni, staff, and faculty to gather, talk, and connect.

We will meet on Tuesday, November 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Stamm (note the new location in the Templeton Campus Center).

The goal of the gathering is to provide a place for Lewis & Clark students, alumni, staff, and faculty to share their feelings and to develop potential action steps for our community. This gathering is for Lewis & Clark College-affiliated community members.
